Retreat Reflection: Love Is To Be Seen

When you share your photos and memories from this weekend, people will see the beautiful parts first, the mountains, the trees, the hearty meals, the charming creek. They’ll think it looked peaceful, grounding, maybe even a little magical. But what they won’t see is what really happened here.

They won’t see the time you gave yourselves to slow down, to step away from your routines, and to be fully present with your daughter and with each other. They won’t see how much can change when you create space for it. Because the truth is, love isn’t just something we say. Love is to be seen.

Over these past few days, we watched that happen in real time.

You began to notice and understand each other in new ways. Listening more closely. Showing up more openly. You’ve chosen to accept yourself more completely, and chosen to accept one another in return.

Today, we returned to where it all began.

At the creek, we held our Closing Ceremony and released our Despacho into the water; an offering to nature, to Pachamama. It was a moment to reflect, to let go, and to carry forward what you’ve found here. And in that moment, you could feel the difference.

We watched your daughters walk toward you with a new kind of ease and warmth. And we watched you meet them there. I also watched my own family, my sister and my mother, walk toward each other in that same way. It’s a reminder that this bond doesn’t fade with time. It grows, deepens, and continues to nurture us for a lifetime, if we choose to take care of it.

That kind of connection doesn’t come from a weekend or a single activity, it comes from time, intention, and the willingness to be present.

That’s the part no one else sees. But it’s the part that matters most. This weekend wasn’t just about getting away. It was about creating space to reconnect in a real way. And I’ve been so grateful to witness that with all of you.

This is not goodbye. It’s just the beginning.

Thank you for trusting me and for showing up so fully. I hope the rituals and the feelings you experienced here stay with you and continue in your everyday lives.

With love,

Romina
